MONTPELIER - Melba Rich Pugmire Arnell, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho. She was born July 27, 1917, in St. Charles, Idaho, to William Ray and Elva Lauvon Rich Pugmire, the third of 10 children.
She was married to William DeLloyd Arnell on December 20, 1939, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were the parents of four children.
She was a very active member of the LDS Church, where she served in many capacities including Relief Society president, various teaching positions and two stake missions. She and her husband worked at the Logan, Utah LDS Temple as officiators for 12 years.
She loved sports, including bowling and golf. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Melba is survived by four children, Karen (Dennis) Welch of West Jordan, Utah, Carolyn (Wayne) Tufts of Soda Springs, Idaho, Lonny DeLloyd (Mary Louise) Arnell of West Valley City, Utah, and Linda Arnell of Montpelier, Idaho; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Renee Carlsen of Cupertino, California; and two brothers, Vaughn (Yvonne) Pugmire of Montpelier, Idaho, and Larry (Karen) Pugmire of West Valley City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
