LaPreal P. Kirkham

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on May 10, 2001 in Springville, Utah at the Art City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

LaPreal was born in St. Charles, Idaho, July 23, 1913 to William Ray and Elva Lauvon Pugmire.

She married ElMoine W. Kirkham on August 11, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She is survived by her husband; son, Gary (Nona) Kirkham; daughters, Kate Kirkham, Diane (Dennis) Miller; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vaughn Pugmire, Larry Pugmire; three sisters, Melba Arnell, Ireta Webb, Ranee Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Gayleen Kirkham; brothers, Elden Pugmire, Fayon Pugmire, Don Pugmire; sister, Leah Kunz. Mother left her beautiful Bear Lake Valley and came to Salt Lake City where she "married the boy next door". They lived and raised their family in Salt Lake City where she was an active member of the North 21st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During the last five years, Mother and Dad lived with their daughter in Springville. Mother enjoyed her many friends from work and church. She worked for Mountain Bell, Hotel Utah and United Airlines. She loved to travel with friends and family. She was a generous and thoughtful person who did a lot to help others. We will miss playing games and having treats with grandmother.

Mother benefited from the special daily care of two aides in her home. We, as a family, want to give special thanks to them and the many others who helped us care for her during the past years.

Funeral services Monday, May 14th, 1 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
