Elizabeth Chachere Marcantel died on Friday, February 20, 1998 in an Allen Parish hospital at the age of 76. A lifelong resident of Kinder, Louisiana, she was a retired schoolteacher and owner and operator of Marcantel Department Store until 1975. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Buster Marcantel and a brother, Roy Pickens. Survivors include four sons, one daughter, two brothers, one sister, Arlene Chachere Savant, and six grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, February 23, 1998 in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church with Father James Gaddy officiating. Burial was in Kinder Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home.
