SHARPE - Vance, III, 74, of Tulsa, OK, passed away on March 30, 2009, in Tulsa, OK. He was born on February 12, 1935 in Gainesville, TX to Vance K. and Rubie (Mullins) Sharpe. He was a graduate of Shidler High School. He attended OSU where he played football and was member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Geology and pursued his career in the oilfields of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. He married the love of his life Mary Jean Page in 1954. Vance was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK. Vance is survived by: his wife, Mary of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Vance Page and Donna Sharpe of Edmond, OK; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Holland of Tomball, TX; his grandchildren: Vance Page Sharpe Jr. and wife Cassidy of Oklahoma City; Kirsten and Katelyn Holland of Tomball, TX; Tim J. Holland and wife Jodi of Stillwater; and Jennifer Woolley and husband Rusty of Humble, TX; a brother, Ed Sharpe and wife Elly of New York City; a niece, Sara Tobin of Washington, D.C.; and a nephew, Zack Sharpe of New York City. The family will receive friends and relatives at Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, OK on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. Graveside service will follow at A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy, OK at 2 p.m.
