Wintferd Doyle Addison, 94, of Eastanollee, husband of Mable Adams Addison, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in Stephens County Hospital.

Born September 17, 1914 in Wilcox County, GA, he was a son of the late Joel Thomas and Lou Anna Kay Addison .

He was a member of Toms Creek Baptist Church, the Berean Sunday School Class, and was a Deacon. Mr. Addison was a former Sunday School Director and taught Sunday School for all ages. He helped to re-build and re-model the church after it burned and was very involved with cooking for the Men's Prayer Breakfast. Mr. Addison worked for Trogdon Furniture Company for several years and then became a self employed cabinet maker.

Family members include his wife, Mable Addison of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Geraldine and Fred Carey of Waco, TX; brothers, Marvin Addison of Toccoa and Floyd Addison of Greenville, SC; sisters, Geneva Payne of Lilburn, GA and Alice Moseley of Toccoa; a granddaughter, Krista Bain of Waco, TX; a grandson, Douglas Carey of Wichita, Kansas; three great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Thursday April 2, 2009 at Toms Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Clack Stubbs and the Rev. Wayne Marcus officiating.

Burial will follow in Toms Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorials to the Toms Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Toms Creek Baptist Church Music Fund.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2 pm - 4 pm and from 7 pm - 9pm Wednesday afternoon, and evening April 1, 2009.
