Betsey M Spoor was born to David Spoor and his wife. She was married to Andrew Craig Day - the 12 June 1828 in Franklin, Delaware Co. NY. They were the parents of two daughters Juliette "Julia" E Day (Benjamin Eastburn Binns) and Mary E Day (James M Matthews).

They would be among the first settlers of the town of Buchanan, Berrien Co. MI. The Indians were encamped about them. Accompanied by her granddaughter, Susan Matthews Hall Betsey made a final trip back East to visit her two sisters shortly after their arrival, she suffered a heart attack and passed away. She was seventy-nine years of age.

Betsey and Andrew are buried at the entrance to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, MI with their family surrounding them.
