Andrew Craig Day was the son of John Day and Nancy Craig Day. He was born in Norwich, New London Co. CT. His siblings were Charles W, John, Betsy, James and one more sister.

He married Betsey M Spoor of Walton/Franklin, Delaware Co. NY. the 12Jun 1828 in Franklin, Delaware Co. NY. They were the parents of two daughters - Juliette "Julia" Elizabeth (Benjamin Eastburn Binns) and Mary Elizabeth (James M Matthews).

Andrew and Betsey were among the first settlers of the town of Buchanan, Berrien Co. MI. Indians were encamped around them. Andrew would become a successful businessman, purchasing much property and developing the southern edge of the town. There is a major street and subdivision named in his honor.

He is buried at the entrance to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan - with Betsey and their family surrounding them.
