OBITUARY
HENRY FRIEDRICH OTHLING

Henry Friedrich Othling was born in Hanover, Germany on Dec. 19, 1867. He was baptised, instructed and confirmed in the Lutheran Church near his home, When he was 16 years old he emigrated to America. After working for several years acquainting himself with American farming methods, he secured a farm southwest of here. He followed his life's vocation on the same farm until 1923, when he retired to Hebron.
He was united in marrage to Bertha Ohlbrecht of Deshler on March 3, 1892. Their union was blessed with 3 daughters. Mrs. Othling preceeded him in death in Jan. 1942. Since that time he has lived alone until his recent illness caused him to be cared for in the home of a daugther in Deshler.
While living in Hebron he was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. He served as Elder for 15 years. Hs peaceful end came on Jan.19, the result of heart trouble. He reached the ripe age of 82
years and 1 month.
He leaves the following near relatives: 3 daughters; Mrs. Freda Samuels, Goodland, Ks. Mrs. Olga Bartels, Deshler, Nebr. Mrs. Clara Bowman, Carleton, Nebr.; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
