She was b. about 1764, at Green Farms. John Avery was graduated at Yale, 1777; pastor of the Congregational church, Stamford. He d. Sept., 1791, at Stamford; his widow m. David Ripley; she d. Dec. 26, 1830, at Saugatuck.

Because this gravestone reads MRS. Ripley, credence is given to the probability that Anne/Ann Ripley was the wife of David Ripley and not a daughter of Hezekiah and Dorothy Ripley. Research continues on this interment in Colonial Cemetery for Ann/Anna/Anne (Hazard) Avery Ripley along with clarification and comparison to the memorial of the other Ann Ripley resting here.
