Mrs. Myrtie Barbour, 97, died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (May 13, 1964) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Hazel) Laird of Johnsonburg. Known familiarly as "Grandma Barbour", she was a cousin of the late President Millard Fillmore and one of the area's oldest residents.
Mrs. Barbour was born Sept. 3, 1866 in Johnsonburg the daughter of the late Johnson and M. Fillmore Head. Her husband John Barbour, died many years ago.
Surviving besides Mrs. Laird are a son, Theodore of Buffalo, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Claude, Frank and Glen Barbour and a sister of the late John and Frank Head.
Services were held on Saturday from the Marley Funeral Home with the rev. Edward Cross of the Johnsonburg Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Johnsonburg Cemetery.
