Maude Ellen Frye Collins was the daughter of Nathaniel Sylvester Frye and Nancy Ellen Blanton. She attended college in Kentucky and earned her teaching certificate about 1930. She taught school in Kentucky, Tennessee and NC. She was a pastor's wife, a teacher and a mother of three boys. She taught school in Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina. The family moved to NC in order that her husband take the pastorate at East Marion Baptist Church in 1961. Maude was a first grade teacher at West Marion Elementery school where she taught until she retired. She enjoyed her family, her kids and grandkids and she also enjoyed traveling.
