The funeral of Mary (Hill) Pate, the wife of Thomas Pate, who was found dead in bed at her home on Hill Street, Saturday morning, was held at Christ Church this afternoon at 2:30 PM, and was largely attended. The Rev. H. P. Seymour, the pastor, officiated. The body was taken to city cemetery and interred.
Mrs. Pate married her husband Oct. 12, 1866 in England and they journeyed on the steamboat S. S. Hecla, landing on September 17, 1872.
