Henry Norton Jaynes, born the son of Henry Jaynes and Catherine Crawford. He lived in Washington Co., Ohio from 1829 till 1865, when he moved most of his family to Daviess Co., Ind. Here he loss his wife Nancy Jane Davis and Daughter Martha and a grandson. He also married for the second time to Susan Arthur, the widow of Jonathan Arthur. Then the family move on to Linn Co., Missour. Henry's sister Sarah Jaynes Richarson,and her husband, soon moved to Linn Co., and bought land from her brother. Not to long after the move to Linn Co., Missouri Henry died. He was the father of 5 sons and 5 daughters. He out lived 7 of his children. I have never been able to find the grave sites of his two son's who died in the Civil war. Both in Weat Virginia, James Jaynes and Nahum Jaynes. all the rest are here.
