Lorena was married 5 times, first to Mills L. Norsworthy, then William Henry Dews, then James A. Harlow, then Robert Lenahan or Linehan, and last to John/Gehew C. Collins. Her first 2 husbands were the fathers of her children. For many years she ran a boarding house at Money Point.

Lorena's obituary was published in the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot, Monday, February 28, 1949:

"Mrs. Lorena Estelle Collins, 82, died at her residence, 815 Franklin Avenue, Portlock, yesterday at 10:30 a.m. after a short illness.

A native of Isle of Wight County, Mrs. Collins lived here 34 years. She was the daughter of Solomon and Sally Darden Eley and the wife of the late Gehew C. Collins.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Sarah Taylor Jones and Mrs. Bessie Forbes of South Norfolk; Mrs. R. H. Nunnally, of Portlock; Mrs. H. E. Bowen, of the Richmond Cedar Works, and Mrs. Lilly Boyd, of South Norfolk; a son, H. L. Dews of Portlock; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The body was take to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The body will lie in state one hour before the services. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park."
