Walter C. Hinderliter, 25 Broadway Street, Reynoldsville (formerly of Ringgold) died Saturday, February 25, 1978 in the DuBois Hospital, DuBois. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Hinderliter was born March 3, 1893 in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County, the son of Harris and Catherine Snyder Hinderliter. He was married to Mazie Powell who preceded him in death, and was then married to Alma (Himes) Bryan in June 1969. He was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church, Mail Carriers Association and was a retired mail carrier, from the Mayport RD 2 route.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Alma; two sons and one daughter; Delmer and Robert Hinderliter, Mrs. Lambert (Violet) Miller, all of the Mayport RD 2 area; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; three step-children; Alton Bryan, St. Marys; Max Bryan, Bellwood, Pa.; Dale Bryan, Reynoldsville; one brother, Delbert Hinderliter, Erie; one sister, Mrs. Vera Young, Hawthorn.
Friends will be received in the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday from noon until time for services at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Robert Horneman (former Ringgold pastor) will officiate assisted by Rev. Randall Luther. Burial will follow in Ringgold Cemetery.
