"Elisha Bales, an aged farmer of Jefferson township, died at his home between Jamestown and Paintersville, Wednesday morning at 2 o'clock after a long illness. He was one of the wealthy farmers of that vicinity, where he had lived since 1853. He was 78 years of age, and the last of a family of twelve children. His wife and the following sons and daughters survive: William of Clinton County; Silas R. of near Paintersville; Mrs. O. Eavey, of Dexter Springs, Kans.; Mrs. William Gerard, at home.
The funeral services will be held at the house Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock."
