Mrs. Clark visited Davenport two months ago and then traveled on to Ohio. She was in poor health and the telegram announcing her death came just days before the brothers received a letter asking her brothers to met her at the train station in Davenport, as she made her way by train to her home to Des Moines.
The body will be brought to Durant for funeral services. Burial will be in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.
Adaline Theresa Hitchcock was born September 8, 1845, in Scott County, Iowa, the daughter of Jared and Lucy (Hubbard) Hitchcock. She married Elbert Cornelius Clark on September 8, 1864.
She is survived by tree sons Eugene, Whittlesey and Dan Clark; three daughters, Anna, Ella and Josephine; and four brothers, Albert, Coleman, William and Fredrick Hitchcock.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and one brother.
