Last Rites for Mrs. John Beach Held Here Wednesday Afternoon
Mrs. John Beach passed away at her home in this city at 6 o'clock Monday morning, September 6, 1937, after an illness of only two or three hours, of cerebral hemorrhage, aged 31 years, 4 months and 19 days. Sarah May Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, was born April 17, 1906, on the Davis homestead, west of Akron, in Union county, S. D. There she grew to young womanhood, and on May 30, 1923, at Elk Point, S. D., she was united in marriage with John Beach, of Richland, S. D. To this union six children were born. The family has resided in Akron for several years past. Besides her husband and four children, John William, Darleen, Eileen and Delbert, she leaves to mourn her departure her aged mother, Mrs, June Davis, of Union county; four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Folan, Mrs. Nellie Mann, Mrs, Roudolph Offerdahl and Mrs. John Overby; and two brothers, Frank and Randolph Davis. Two children, Marlow, and another who died in infancy in 1935; her father, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Beach united with the Christian church in 1934. She was a kind and devoted wife and mother, and many friends unite in offering sincere sympathy to the bereaved husband, children, mother and other relatives.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. J. Zane, the pastor, in the Christian church yesterday afternoon, were attended by many friends and relatives. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
