DEATH CLAIMS MRS. STILLWELL
One of Oldest Women In Northern Part of County
Mrs. Elizabeth Stillwell, aged 86, widow of Frank Stillwell, among oldest residents of the northern part of Hamilton county, died at her home in Atlanta Wednesday after having been in poor health for many years and confined to her bed for two years. Funeral services will be be held in the Atlanta Christian church at 10 o'clock, Saturday, and interment will take place in the cemetery at Converse beside her husband, whose death occurred several years ago.
Mrs. Stillwell was born near Omega, one of six children of Edward and Martha (Leeman) Merritt. She is the last member of the family. In 1873 she was married to Frank Stillwell in Noblesville and four children were born to this union, two of whom are living - Carl Stillwell of Gary and Edward Stillwell of Warren, O. Three grandchildren, children of Carl Stillwell; a step-daughter, Mrs. Malissa Gipson of Elwood; two nieces, Mrs. Rose Crull of Elwood and Mrs. Kate Tansy of Elwood and a nephew, Ola Welborn of Atlanta are also living. Mrs. Crull was in the home of her aunt during her long illness and gave her every attention.
Mrs. Stillwell was identified with the Christian church and an active member of the Mary Martha Sunday school class as long as her health would permit.
