Mrs. Josephine Bihn, 88, a resident of Lee county in the String Prairie community nearly all of her life, died at 1:45 o'clock Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Kirchner, south of Donnellson. She had been in failing health for more than two years.
Born at Cincinnati, O., on Aug. 8, 1865, she came to Lee county when she was only six months old and spent the remainder of her life here. She was first married to George Marion and later, in 1891, she married Joseph Bihn. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church at String Prairie.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Marion of Ft. Madison (IA), and William Joseph Bihn of Keokuk; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Stevens and Miss Thersia Marion, both of Ft. Madison, and Mrs. Herman Kirchner of Donnellson; and three grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock, Tuesday morning, from St. Mary's church at String Prairie, with the Rev. Raymond Murphy officiating and burial was in Calvary cemetery at West Point.
Pallbearers were Anthony Westermeyer, Edmund Downey, George Halm, Earl Lutz, B. B .Mosley and Louis Pickering.
