Church south. The bereaved family consists of six children, all grown and living in Hamilton County, and three sisters and three brothers in this county. He was one of the heaviest taxpayers in the county having over two thousand acres of fine farmland, heavily stocked and varied financial interests. When two years of age, in 1831 he was brought to Hamilton County from Sequatchie County by his father, Ephraim Hixson, for whom Hixson Station was afterward named. The last 67 years of his life were spent in this county. Mr. Hixson was a man whom all who knew admired. He was thrifty and energetic, successful in all his undertakings, and a good citizen whose death will be generally lamented.
