Thomas W., his father Thomas Evans, and his sister Sara Ann Evans Hanna and her family migrated to MS from GA in early 1840s. At the end of the Civil War, Thomas W. Evans' rank out was that of 3rd Lieut. in Ben King's 21st Regiment of MS Infantry (State Troops) under Capt. D. Loves Company. Oldest son Benjamin T. Evans of Company C 11th (Perrins) MS Cavalry was taken prisoner of War in Mali, MS. He was freed on Sept. 26, 1864, but did not return home which was recorded in our Evans bible records.

Another sister Nancy Caroline Evans King is buried in Holly Grove Cemetery in Hempstead Co., AR, his brother John Evans is buried in his private Evans Cemetery in De Soto Parish, LA. It is thought that their father Thomas Evans, who died about July 1856 in Attala Co., MS, may be buried in Shiloh Cemetery in Madison Co., MS. Their mother Nancy Turner Evans died on 16 May 1827 in GA...Monroe or Pike Co.
