In 1885 she came with her parents to America and Macon, Nebr. where she lived until 1901. In 1943 they came to the Edgar community where she resided at the time of her death.

On August 23, 1901, she was united in marriage to Charles B. Saathoff. A favorite poem of Mrs. Saathoff's, which was read at her funeral, is as follows:

"When I set out to follow Jesus,

My Lord held out a cross to me;

"When I set out to follow Je (sic) it onward

If I would His disciples be

I sought out many other kind

The smallest of them all to find,

But still the Lord held forth my own

This must thou hear, but not alone."

Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Edgar Methodist Church conducted by Mr George Gerlach of Grand Island.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Eileen Mikkelsen.

Pallbearers were Lyle Bonner, Richard Wicker, Marvin Gerdes, Floyd Brown, Harold Brown and William Schlichtman.
