CULBERTSON -- Mrs. Dorathea Margaret Meints was born in Germany on November 25, 1876, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Alberts. She died Sunday, August 14 at her home at the age of 89. She came to the United States at the age of eight and was married in 1893 to Reinke Meints Sr. He preceded he in death in 1940 . She had lived in Hitchcock County since 1905.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Etta Frecks, Culbertson; and Mrs. Albert Groothuis, Denver; five sons, Henry of Culbertson; Albert of Palisade; Walter of San Lorenzo, California; Harm of Seattle, Washington; and William of Denver; 31 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dorathea Margaret Meints were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. Einspahr officiating. Interment was in the Culbertson Cemetery under the direction of the Herrmann Funeral Home.
