Dr. Hunt Conducts Rites For Pioneer Resident Of Abilene---

Last rites for Mrs. Parilee Hooser, 85, were held from the Laughter chapel, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Dr. J. W. Hunt, president of McMurry College, officiating.

Mrs. Hooser, a resident of Abilene since 1907 died at the home of her son, J. H. Hooser, 602 Vine street Saturday morning at 4 o'clock following an illness of two weeks.

A native of Mississippi, Mrs. Hooser moved to Texas in 1871, settling in Ellis County. With her husband, she moved to Abilene in 1907 where she lived continuously until her death. Mr. Hooser died here in 1917 [sic, 1916]. Interment will be beside his grave at the Odd Fellows cemetery.

Besides her son here, Mrs. Hooser is survived by a daughter, Mrs. E. E. Dawson, of Del Rio, and a son, G. F. Hooser.

Mrs. Dawson and husband, the Rev. Mr. Dawson, were here for the funeral.

Pallbearers for the funeral were: J. Harvey Clark, N. G. Rollins, Robert Rankin, J. F. Clark, Joe Jay, Walter Jennings and Turner Rollins."
