LEONARD BERRY--Leonard Berry, retired Louisville & Nashville Railroad repairman who lived at 1314 Merton, died at 6:45 p.m. yesterday at John Gaston Hospital. He had been ill three years. He was 50. A life long resident of Memphis, Mr. Berry was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and Hollywood Civic Club and was a Mason. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sadie Berry; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean Dawson, and Mrs. Peggy Louise Warren, and his mother, Mrs. Birdie Pittsinger, all of Memphis and two sisters, Mrs. Julius Thrailkill of Millington, and Mrs. Walter Kuss of Memphis, and two grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hollywood Baptist Church. Burial in Mt. Vernon Gardens. National Funeral Home is in charge. (Published in The Commercial Appeal, March 23, 1961)

A father's legacy is not riches, possessions or worldly goods of any kind, it is the way he lived, the lives he touched, the promises he kept. It is the kind of man he was.
