The Rev. Herbert "Bunt" Long, 86, of Tellico Plains, passed away Saturday evening, March 21, 2009, at U.T. Medical Center.

He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church and a former member of Long Ridge Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Powell; two grandchildren; parents, June and Lula Miller Long; sisters: Myrtle Fritts and Esther Jacobs; and brothers: Johnny, Erskin, Clifford and Homer Long.

Survivors include his wife, Josie Roberts Long; daughters and sons-in-law: Gennive West of Madisonville, Emma and David Albritton of Charleston, Linda and Johnny Wright of Tellico Plains; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters: Ruby Jones of Madisonville, Gladys Best of Tellico Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Tellico Plains with the Rev. Larry Walker and Rev. Ted Simpson officiating.

Interment will be in Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
