An active member of the Smithfield Methodist Church, he was a blacksmith and farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Hibbs Baer; two sons, Harry, Akron, Ohio; and Earl, Miami, Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Dawson, Uniontown; Mrs. Lucy Divil, Hopwood; and Mrs. Florence Jennings, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; two brothers; one sister; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Vance Funeral Home, Smithfield, are incomplete.
