The son of my ancestor, Sgt. SAMUEL ALLING, and his first wife, Elizabeth Winston, he married Sarah Curry about 1690 in New Haven. They moved from New Haven, Conn. to Newark, NJ about 1701-2 where he was a judge of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas, town collector in 1709, 1711, and 1717, a fence viewer in 1715, surveyor of highways in 1721, and part of a committee to replace Rev. Nathaniel Bowers after his death.
He like his father & grandfather was a blacksmith. In 1724, he deeded two acres of land to his son Thomas Alling.
