Emma L. McCowan
Mrs. Emma L. McCowan, wife of Aaron G. McCowan, died yesterday at her home, 401 Pennsylvania avenue, Downingtown, in her 56th year. She had been ill for a long time past.
Mrs. McCowan was born in the Great Valley near Devault and was a daughter of the late John and Leah Thomas. She had been a resident of Downingtown for the past forty-three years. She was a member of the Malvern Baptist Church.
Surviving here besides her husband are four daughters, Helen, wife of Norman Algier, Lancaster; Eleanor, wife of Thomas MacDougal of Downingtown, Mildred and Brian, at home and Aaron, Jr. of Coatesville.
The funeral will take place from her home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Northwood cemetery. Friends have been invited to call on Tuesday evening.
