Carlton D. "Pot" Rice, 83, of Madison, passed away Thursday.
Mr. Rice was a longtime resident of Huntsville. He graduated from Joe Bradley High School and attended Auburn University School of Engineering. "Pot" was an aviation machinist in the Navy during World War II where he received the American Theatre Medal, the Victory Medal and the Euro-Afri-Mideast Medal. He later did aviation maintenance for the Alabama National Guard during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the V.F. W. He was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Coffee Club Social where he will be greatly missed.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine "Pauline" Rice.
Survivors include son, Jason A. Rice and wife, Denise, of Madison; granddaughters, Brandie Rice and Brooke Rice, both of Harvest and several nieces and nephews
