Little Catherine was the beautiful and much loved first child of Henry William and Florence Routh Coit. While her mother Florrie was still abed after the birth of her first son, little Catherine was being cared for by the housekeeper who took her out to the boiling washpot. Catherine's dress caught fire and caused her death.
