Arnold D. Cooper, 75, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Lubbock Heart Hospital, with his loving family by his side. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Highland Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

Arnold was born in Levelland, on Feb. 14, 1934, to Minor and Editha (Halbert) Cooper. Arnold and Yvonne Drake were married Aug. 7, 1952. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and the Levelland Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Minor and Editha Cooper; step-mom, Mae Cooper; brothers, Wylie Minor, Harold, Calvin, and Carroll; and sister, Lucile Hennen.

Arnold is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne; son, David and wife, Faye Cooper, of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Louise and husband, Phillip Cox, of Lubbock; granddaughter, Shelly and husband, Brian Balding, of Lubbock; grandson, Christopher Cooper, of Okla.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Cooper, of Sacramento, Calif.
