Harold married Freida English Cassity in Lubbock on Jan. 29, 1969. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was a self-made man and entrepreneur. He owned Coopers Meat Market on West 19th for 12 years. He also owns Coopers Mobile Home Park in Wolfforth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Wylie, Minor, Calvin and Carroll. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cindy Meredith of Lubbock; two sons, David and Russell Cassity, both of Lubbock; a sister, Lucille Hennen of El Paso; a brother, Arnold Cooper of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter to-be, Makayla Lucille; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
