Spencer Mason Birchfield 1987 - 2009 Basham Funeral Care Visitation for Spencer Mason Birchfield will be held at Basham Funeral Care (3312 Niles Street) on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. Spencer graduated from Stockdale High School in 2005 and was pursuing a career in engineering. He had worked for the Kern County Road Department and dreamed of working as a mechanical engineer, just like his older brother. Spencer embraced life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He always had a new project, and as soon as he finished one, he was quick to find another. Spencer felt at home in the wilderness and was a true outdoorsmen. He was very passionate about his many interests which included racing motorcycles, fabricating cars, fishing, snowboarding, and entertaining friends and family. There was never a dull moment when Spencer was around. He had friends from all age groups and walks of life. Spencer had the uncanny ability to make a new friend anytime he met somebody. Spencer was a great companion and brought tremendous joy to anyone he came into contact with. He will forever be remembered as a loyal friend, and dedicated family member. Spencer is survived by his parents, Lesley and Gary Greer; father and step-mother, Robert and Kathy Birchfield; brothers, Robert C. and Patrick Jr. Birchfield; sister, Lisa Greer; grandmother, Norma Greer; cousin, Paul Birchfield; uncle, Greg Greer and his many friends in Bakoboyz, cousins, other relatives and so many close friends that are to numerous to mention.
