Funeral Services for Mildred Mae Darrow have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Pylate will officiate. Burial will follow at Timber Ridge Cemetery in Catoosa, Oklahoma under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Mildred Mae Darrow was born June 9, 1916 in Ada, Oklahoma the daughter of Amos and Alvara (Honeycutt) Deatherage. Mildred died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at St. Francis South Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 92 years of age.
The former Miss Mildred Deatherage married Everette Steeley in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1961. She was later married to Dewitt Darrow for 15 years before he preceded her in death. She enjoyed pro wrestling, watching Bonanza and Gun Smoke, sewing, quilting, playing games with her family and fishing. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Hometown Hospice, 804 S. Main, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
She is survived by,
Daughters, Virginia and husband Bill Poston, Verdigris, OK
Carolyn and husband Elzie Gray, Wagoner, OK
Son, Jerry Steeley, Broken Arrow, OK
16 Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by sons, Everett Eugene Steeley, Paul Enoch Steeley and brothers, Jesse, Billy, Ed and sisters, Agnes and Edna.
