Upon recommendation of the prison commission of Georgia Governor Hardwick extended a full pardon to Mr. G. Wash Lott. The pardon was sent to Judge Calvin A. Ward last Wednesday and turned over to Mr. Lott by him. Thus comes to a conclusion one of the most noted murder cases ever tried in this section, or in Georgia. Mr. Lott was tried in 1917 for the murder of his son, Warren L. Lott at West Green, and was given a life sentence. He served three years at the state farm at Milledgeville and little more than a year ago he was granted a parole and according to reports, his year on parole has warranted a complete pardon. Mr. Lott is near seventy-five years of age and living at his home near West Green. Judge Ward has fought the case for Mr. Lott from the start and was most largely responsible for the pardon received by his aged client.
