ANNIE BELLE "Anita" TUCKER, 78, international vocalist, recording artist, actress and model passed away March 12, 2009. Professionally known as Anita Tucker, the Voice of Sheba. Tucker, a Capital Records recording artist, has traveled the world as an entertainer representing Memphis and Beale Street. Tucker has preformed for Kings, Queens and Presidents. She spent several years on the USO tour entertaining American soldiers abroad. She has appeared in several movies and Broadway productions such as: Mississippi Burning, Alabama Church Bombings, The Black Mikado, The Othello Story, and Mad Mad Mad World. Mrs. Tucker leaves behind two children, Pamela Harris and Vance Harris, Sr. and his wife, Renee; seven grandchildren; Mauri Harris, Michael Harris and his wife, DeAnna, Mildred Dawson, Vance Harris II, Marketha Dawson, Varen Harris, Valisa Harris and two great grandchildren Aniyah Calvin and Deone Harris. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 1 p.m. in Memphis National Cemetery at 3568 Townes Avenue, Memphis, TN. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on 3/17/2009)
