Earl Roy Stone, 65 years of age, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Tuesday, June 29th, 1993.
A Science Hill, Kentucky native, he was born on August 23rd, 1927, son of the late James and Jennie Ramsey Stone. He was retired from the United States Army, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Colorado Springs.
Earl was survived by his loving wife, Wanda Garner Flynn Stone, whom he married on July, 30th, 1954 in Abilene, Kansas; three sons, Gary M. Stone, Earl R. Stone Jr., and Jamie T. Stone; one brother, Russell Stone; one sister, Vivlet Ard; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Stone, who departed this life on October 7th, 1942 and Jennie Stone, who departed this life on February 9th, 1960; and three brothers, Clifton Lee Stone, Russell C. Stone, and Raymond Stone.
Visitations were held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company in Somerset, Kentucky.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2nd, 1993 in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky, with Rev. Sammie Adkins officiating.
