Herman was born in Rich Fountain, Missouri to Heinrich Franz “Henry” Rehagen and Mary Caroline Scharlandt. He was baptized on Oct 1, 1877, with Herman Rehagen and Anna Schruefer as sponsors.

Herman was married to Mary Ann Brune on Feb. 5, 1907, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, Missouri, and they had five children.

Herman B. Rehagen, 81, Freeburg, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born at Rich Fountain, Sept. 29, 1877, the son of Henry and Mary Schaland Rehagen. Mr. Rehagen was married Feb. 5, 1907 to Miss Mary Brune who preceded (him) in death. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Freeburg and the Married Men's Sodality.

Survivors include: two sons, Alex Rehagen and Ray Rehagen, both of Freeburg; a daughter, Mrs. Alphonse Wilde of Freeburg; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Bax of St. Louis; and Mrs. Angela Bax of Milwaukee, Wisc.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 am Tuesday at the holy Family Catholic Church, Freeburg, with the Rev. Msgr. Bernard Tempe officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the Dulle Funeral Home tonight.
