Aline grew up in the Mtn. Grove area and was united in marriage to Lester Mabe in 1933. Five children were born to this union. Lester passed away in 1964 and she later married Paul Corbet Smith in 1967. Mr. Smith passed away on June 24, 1990.
Aline accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She attended the old Assembly of God Church on west North St., Dawson Assembly of God, and most recently the Almost Home Ministries in Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with her friends.
Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son: Frank Mabe; one daughter: Irena Mabe; four sisters: Wilda Balam, Stella Middleton, Myrtle Marlin, and Louise Melton; two grandchildren: Valerie Powell and Saundra (Mabe) Smith; and by two step-sons: Orville Mabe and Cecil Mabe.
She is survived by two sons: Richard (Dick) Mabe Sr., and his wife, Virginia, of Mtn. Grove, and Don Mabe and his wife, Mary, of Walnut Shade, Missouri; one daughter: Clara Powell of McCordsville, Indiana; one sister: Lucille Lathrom of Mtn. Grove; one step-daughter-in-law: Wilma Mabe of Mtn. Grove; two step-daughters: Betty Uptogrove and her husband, Kenny, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Shirley Harris and her husband, Chuck, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; thirty-six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Graveside services for Aline Smith will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Ratterree. Rick Mabe will be singing "What A Day That Will Be," and Arliss Stigall will sing "Peace In The Valley." Pallbearers are Rick Mabe, Rob Mabe, Richard Mabe, Buddy Mabe, Randy Mabe, and Brad Mabe. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Mabe, Kurt Rogers, Brad Stubbs, and Paul Uptogrove. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
