The funeral service of "Uncle" Elbert Benbrook, who died at his home near Wideman last Friday, July 4, 1919 was held at the Spring Creek Cemetery last Saturday about noon in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. Rev. J. W. Johnston, pastor of the Methodist Church at Bexar, conducted the funeral service. Mr. Benbrook was one of the oldest and best know citizens of the county, being nearly eighty years of age. He has lived in the vicinity of Wideman all his life, being born on his old home place, where he was residing at the time of his death. He enjoyed an extensive acquaintance over Izard and Baxter Counties, and a host of relatives and friends sorrow at the news of his death. He lived the life of a obedient and consecrated Christian from young manhood, being a member of the M. E. Church, South. He has always been a strong adherent to any move that meant the moral betterment of his home community and people. Deceased has been married six times, being survived by his last wife, whom he was married to over two years ago. Two daughters and one son by the first wife survive: Mrs. W. J. Hutson of Tuckerman, Mrs. W. C. Rodman of Calico Rock, and R.H. Benbrook of Wideman. Surviving children by the second wife are: Miss Alice Benbrook of Wideman, Mrs. J. C. Jones of Wideman, and A. H.
