Petersburg, May 30. - Mrs. Minerva May Owen, wife of W.L. Owen, businessman and alderman in Petersburg, died in the Springfield hospital at Springfield Monday afternoon from a complication of diseases.
She was first taken ill with pneumonia about three weeks ago. Two weeks ago, she gave birth to a baby daughter. Her age was 44 [sic] years and 15 days.
Deceased is survived by two step-children, Ira and Donald; and by six children, the oldest nine years of age and the youngest two weeks. The children are Wayne, Everett, Paula, Catherine, Helen and the baby, Anna May.
The funeral services were at the Cumberland Presbyterian church.
Burial was in Concord cemetery north of Petersburg.
Mr. Owen is in the restaurant business in Petersburg.
