DelLoyd D. George, 86, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

The son of Dan and Nellie Lee George, he was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Bucklin. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He and Marian E. Mages were married Oct. 18, 1949 at Spearville. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2006.

Mr. George was a farmer and a salesman. He loved his family and enjoyed being with them.

He was a member of the Word of Life Church in Garden City and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by five sons, including Karel George of Garden City; Danny George of Denver; Dennis George of Rolla; Kurtis George of Denver; and Kris George of Walsh, Colo.; three daughters, Mary Harden of Ashland; Donna Blanchard of Laredo, Texas; Denise George of Denver; a brother, Dorrel George of Phillipsburg; a sister, Dorlene Blodig of Atchinson; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, John Mark Harden and Anthony George; two brothers, Delmar George and Dannell George; and a sister, Deloycde George.

Funeral was at the Word of Life Church.

The burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
