Apparently he was given money by friends either on leaving or arriving because he was able to purchase land in Dutchess County. A large number of descendants now claim ancestry to him. Records state that his first wife (my ancestor) was of German origin. However at his second marriage at Hopewell Dutch Church to Effie Emigh he is listed as Heinrick Wagman (Wyckman) widower of Mary Wight.
