John was the son of Henry and Eve Wagman and lived to 85 yrs. He was born 10 days after a younger brother named John died - a fairly common practice in those days. He came with his brother Henry from Dutchess County to Wagman's Ridge in Saratoga County in about 1813. After his stone was broken they may have made a new one for him since a broken stone with his name and date was found while cleaning the site on Oct 1, 2016. His repaired stone fell and broke so both of his stones are now placed on top of each other as a compromise.
