DIES SUDDENLY WHILE ATTENDING FUNERAL
Mrs. Julia Hilton, 74, Victim Of Apoplexy In Cemetery As Service For Relative Ends
Mrs. Julia Hilton, 74, of 1723 Broadway, suffered a stroke of apoplexy yesterday afternoon at Mt. Hope cemetery while attending the funeral of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Hilton, and passed away within fifteen minutes after she first became ill. The service for Mrs. Mary Hilton had just been concluded as friends and relatives noted that Mrs. Julia Hilton had turned pale and appeared to have become ill. They supported her for a moment, then walked with her to a bank across the road. She was seated there and as her condition grew worse, a call was sent for a physician and ambulance. Both arrived within a few minutes but death took place shortly after and before medical aid could be administered. Mrs. Hilton is survived by two sons, George E. Hilton, president of the Logansport Loan & Trust bank, and Merritt Hilton, of San Pedro, Cal.; two daughters, Mrs. Homer Closson and Mrs. Dore Myers of Flora; a sister, Mrs. Esther McAllister, this city. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Mrs. Homer Closson residence, 812 High street, conducted by Rev. W. A. Steinkraus assisted by Rev. J. S. Corkey. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope cemetery.
