"Mrs. Rose Carpenter, nee Stallbaumer, of Tacoma, Washington, who was visiting her mother and other relatives in this county, died at the residence of her brother-in-law, Henry Welp, at St. Benedict last Sunday, (July 5, 1891) of malaria fever, and was buried from the Catholic Church in St. Benedict on last Tuesday (July 7, 1891). A great many of Seneca people, especially the young, will remember Rose when she lived in Seneca, a lovely and happy girl, and will feel sorry of her being taken off so young."
Died at 28 years of age. Buried in Johann Martin Stallbaumer burial plot in St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Benedict, Kansas. No headstone.
