J Frank Bish, 90, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, January 31, 1991 at DuBois Regional Medical Center West.

Mr. Bish was born May 26, 1900 in Porter Township, the son of Wesley and Myrtle (Gahagan) Bish. he married the former Margaret Justice on July 3, 1923.

A retired farmer and coal miner, he was also retired from PennDOT. A lifetime resident of Porter Township and Punxsutawney, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Punxsutawney Senior Citizens and the Punxsutawney Area Historical and Genealogical Society.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bish; three daughters: Mrs. Louise Rowse of Punxsutawney, Claribelle Bish of State College, and Mrs. Daniel (Beverly) Mosier of Anita; three sons: the Rev. Eugene Bish of Petersburg, Texas, Howard Bish of Punxsutawney RD 5 and Clyde Bish of Punxsutawney; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Wilda Sherry of Sandy Lake, Mrs. Bessie McCurdy of Newton Falls, Ohio and Mrs. Alice Alford of Butler; and two brothers: Garey Bish of Stoneboro, and Alfred Bish of Stoneboro.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jesse Frank Bish Jr, his parents and a sister, Mrs. Lula McMillan.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at the First Untied Methodist Church of Punxsutawney. The Rev. LaVerne Howard will officiate.

Interment will be at Zion Cemetery, Punxsutawney RD 4.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday at the Pifer Funeral Home of Punxsutawney. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 am Monday at the First United Methodist Church.

The family has suggested that memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Punxsutawney Area Historical and Genealogical Society.
