Johnathan Lawrence is my 6X Great Grandfather. His history is based on records I've located thru Ancestry.com including the important Barbour Collection.
Johnathan was born on 7 Oct 1732 along with his twin brother, David, to Jeremiah and Olive Wheeler Lawrence in Plainfield, Windham County, Connecticut. Windham County is in the far eastern portion of Connecticut, separated from Rhode Island only by the township of Sterling.
Johnathan married Bette/Betty Green in Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut on 4 May 1756 when he was 23. Likely this is where both lived prior to marriage but I don't know that for certain yet. Litchfield County is in the NW corner of Connecticut, bordering New York to the west and Massachusetts to the north.
